Has anyone seen the series? How is it? I'm thinking of watching it but 8 seasons is a bit much isn't it?

The first seasons were a little heavier for me, the middle ones went by very very quickly (they were the ones I liked the most) and the last ones are a bit repetitive. Despite this, it is a series that I liked and thanks to it I began to see The originals, a spinoff with some characters.
