USER OF THE WEEK

"My name is Manuel D'Andrea, an Italian designer born in a little city near Rome in 1993, I've always had a passion for art and stuff where creativity was involved, since the first years of life. I can't imagine my life without art and without the process that brings me to create something creative. I love to draw, illustrate, paint, sew, sculpt and so on, I'm also a costume designer and I have created my space "Midnight Costumes" in 2013. Sometimes I travel around the globe to take part to Expo and Comic Conventions as a guest and judge for Cosplay competitons."

About your beginnings, When did you start to illustrate?
I've started illustrating in the January of 2015.

What most motivates your work as a designer/illustrator?
The desire to improve, every design is a challenge and from every challenge there is something to learn!



About the creative process, where do you look for inspiration for your designs? / What inspires you?
Literally everything, two colors together in a shop window, a dream, a movie, everything could be an inspiration.
My biggest inspiration is Nature.

What is the part that is harder in the creative process?
I believe, in every design, the hardest part change, sometimes is to find the right idea, some other times is to think of how to develop it, and so on.

From your point of view, what makes an illustration a great illustration?
In my opinion, a great illustrator is someone modest, talent should go together with humilty to make a great artist.



Tell us something about the projects you’re prouder.
I'm not able to choose, every single work has a piece of me inside.

People say that we all have a persona who really inspires us and we considera n example to follow. What is yours and why?
Absolutely my dad!
